Two sets of rotating and stationary mechanical seals are placed in a sequence to form a double mechanical seal, a type of sealing system. The first set of seals, known as the primary seal, guards against leakage by coming into contact with the process fluid. In the event that the primary seal fails, the backup protection is provided by the secondary seal, which is the second set. Double mechanical seals are frequently employed in high-temperature, high-pressure, and operations involving potentially dangerous or toxic fluids. The process fluid is kept contained and does not leak out into the environment thanks to their high level of dependability and durability.
